My hair is fine and thin—and it drives me crazy! It has some wave to it. I would rather that it be straight OR curly, but unfortunately, it’s not either.
I would love a consultation from Bill Angst! Thank you so much!
The consultation
Bill Angst says:
Amy, thank you for submitting your request because this is a common hair type that many people have trouble with. I think you manage quite well with your styling techniques, which are half the battle.
The other part is finding the right cut for long, fine hair, and you already have it. A basic cut is always easiest to work with, either straight or curly.
Play with your part and mess things up a bit:
A deeper and/or irregular part would change things up.
Here is a length that would help you get more volume:
It would also show off your lovely long neck.
A great cut always falls to its heaviest and longest point, so even fine hair gets weighed down by length. The way I see it, your bit of wave is better than none. We used to put body perms into fine hair to achieve the same texture that you have naturally. Your hair would seem so much thinner if it was perfectly straight.
As for your colour, to me it looks fantastic on the warm side—it really brightens your skin tone.
